Q1. What's the difference between line and word comparison?
Line comparison suits documents or code where lines carry meaning, while word comparison is useful for spotting changed words within a sentence. Line comparison also highlights the specific characters that changed within a modified line.
Q2. When should I use ignore case or ignore whitespace?
Check these when you only care about actual content differences in code or documents, not case or indentation/spacing differences — those get treated as "equal" when checked.
Q3. How is the similarity percentage calculated?
It's the share of unchanged items (lines or words, depending on your unit) out of the total. 100% means the two texts are completely identical.
Q4. Can I compare very long texts?
Comparison is limited once either text exceeds 2,000 lines or words. Split larger documents into smaller sections and compare those instead.
Q5. Is my input text saved anywhere?
No. All comparison happens entirely in your browser and is never sent to or stored on a server.
